Dr. Priya Dutta
Dr. Priya Dutta, the founder of Nrityanjali, is a pioneer in the world of Kathak. She is the first woman from Jammu and Kashmir to earn a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Dance and clear the NET in Dance. Her accolades include being a graded artist of Doordarshan and a scholarship recipient from the Ministry of Culture.
Her artistic lineage includes tutelage under luminaries like Sh. V.N. Kohli, Pt. Rammohan Mishra, and Prof. Shobha Koser. Dr. Dutta’s dedication to blending tradition with contemporary pedagogy has inspired countless students to pursue Kathak with passion and precision.
